Privacy Policy

Hollow Wisp ("the Game") is a free-to-play mobile game developed by OptyGate. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the Game collects and how it is used.

Data Collection

Hollow Wisp does not require you to create an account. If Play Games is enabled and you are signed in to Google Play Games on your device, the Game can connect to Google Play Games Services for achievements, leaderboards, and optional cloud progress (see sections below). The Game does not collect your email address, password, or real name. The Game also uses third-party services (Google AdMob for advertising, Google Play Billing for the optional Remove Ads purchase, Google Play Games Services, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Remote Config) that may collect certain device and usage data as described below.

Local Storage

The Game uses your device's local storage to save your progress, including:

This data is stored on your device. Reset Progress clears saved gameplay progress while preserving sound, music, and graphics preferences. Ad consent choices can be changed through Privacy options in the in-game Settings panel when that control is required. Clearing Android app data removes all local app data, including preferences. When optional cloud progress is enabled, the limited progress fields listed below are also stored through Google Play Games.

Google Play Games Services

The Game integrates with Google Play Games Services to provide achievements, leaderboards, and optional cloud progress. If Play Games is enabled and you are signed in on your device, the Game checks your existing sign-in state. You can also sign in manually from the Settings panel.

When signed in, the following data is used:

The Game does not access your email, real name, contacts, or any other Google account information. Only the Play Games identity described above is used. This data is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.

Cloud Save

If cloud progress is enabled and you are signed in to Google Play Games, the Game saves selected progress to Google's cloud using the Google Play Games Saved Games (Snapshots) API. The following data is stored in the app-specific Play Games save:

Cloud progress is tied to your Google Play Games account and is used to restore supported progress across installations or devices. It is not shown to other players. The Game does not sync coin, fragment, or gem balances. In-game Reset Progress replaces the cloud progress snapshot with empty progress when cloud sync is active. Google Play Games leaderboard scores and achievements are managed separately through Google's Play Games data controls.

In-App Purchases

The Game offers one optional, one-time Remove Ads purchase through Google Play Billing. Google processes the transaction and does not share your payment card or billing details with the Game developer.

To grant and restore the purchase, the Game receives technical purchase information from Google Play, including the product ID, purchase state, purchase token, acknowledgement state, and purchase time. This information is used only to confirm ownership, acknowledge the transaction, restore the entitlement, and prevent automatic ads from being requested. The Game stores a signed local entitlement flag on your device. Rewarded ads remain optional after purchase.

Advertising

The Game displays ads provided by Google AdMob, Google's mobile advertising platform. Through Google AdMob, the following data may be collected:

This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's Advertising Privacy & Terms. The Game developer does not have access to your personal data collected through ad serving. The Game uses AdMob's content rating filter set to "Teen" and blocks sensitive ad categories including sexual content, gambling, alcohol, dating, religion, politics, and tobacco via AdMob's Blocking Controls.

Ad Personalization and Your Choices

If you are in a region covered by GDPR (European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland), the Game presents a Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form on first launch and whenever consent status changes. Your choices determine whether Google may serve personalized, non-personalized, limited, or technical ads. The Game does not request ads until UMP reports that ads may be requested. When required, you can reopen the consent form from Privacy options in the in-game Settings panel.

You can change your ad preferences at any time on Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads > "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization". Opting out does not reduce the number of ads shown; it means the ads will be less relevant to you.

Analytics

The Game uses Firebase Analytics to understand whether the Game works correctly, which features are useful, how gameplay and progression are balanced, and whether ads and the optional Remove Ads purchase flow complete successfully. Firebase Analytics uses a pseudonymous app instance identifier and processes technical and session information under Firebase's privacy and security terms.

The Game sends limited events about:

The Game also sends coarse user properties for quality mode, device performance tier, Remove Ads ownership, selected guardian, account level, and a bucketed count of completed games. The Game does not attach your email address, real name, Play Games player ID, or cloud save data to Firebase Analytics. Ad storage, ad user data, and ad personalization consent remain denied in Firebase Analytics. Advertising consent is handled separately through Google UMP as described above.

Crash Reporting

The Game uses Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix bugs. Crashlytics automatically collects:

The Game does not intentionally attach your name, email address, Play Games player ID, or advertising ID to Crashlytics reports. Installation identifiers and diagnostics are pseudonymous and may be treated as personal data under applicable law. This data is used to diagnose crashes, errors, and application-not-responding events. Firebase states that Crashlytics keeps crash stack traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from live and backup systems.

Remote Config

The Game uses Firebase Remote Config to adjust game balance and feature flags from the server (for example, ad frequency, enemy caps per device tier, boss interval, and the Daily Dream enable flag). The Remote Config SDK sends a Firebase installation ID and technical information including country and language codes, time zone, platform and OS versions, Firebase app ID, package name, and SDK version. Firebase uses this information to select configuration values and maintain the service. The Game does not send in-game progress, Play Games identity, or Firebase Analytics events to Remote Config.

Third-Party Services

The Game uses the following third-party services, all provided by Google:

All of these services are provided by Google and governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland, the Game presents a consent form on first launch and respects your choice for ad personalization. Product and gameplay measurement through Firebase Analytics is described in the Analytics section above. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

To exercise these rights regarding data collected through Google AdMob, please refer to Google's Advertising Privacy & Terms. For data stored locally on your device, use the in-game "Reset Progress" option. For Play Games data, use Google's Play Games data controls or contact us at dev@optygate.com for help.

California Users (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. Hollow Wisp does not sell personal information. Ad-related data is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

The Game is not directed at children under 13. The Play Store target audience for this app is 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Data Deletion and Account Deletion

Hollow Wisp does not require you to register an account. You play anonymously. However, the Game stores game progress on your device and, when you are signed in to Google Play Games, on Google's servers. You can request deletion of any of this data at any time.

How to delete your data

What happens after a deletion request

Local deletion initiated through in-game Reset Progress is processed immediately. Email requests receive a response within 30 days. Play Games deletion is processed through Google's controls. Crash data handled by Google through Firebase Crashlytics is governed by Google's retention controls. Firebase states that Crashlytics data is kept for 90 days before removal begins.

Data Retention

Game progress and the local Remove Ads entitlement flag are stored on your device until you clear them. Google Play retains purchase records according to your Google account settings and Google's policies, which allows the Game to restore an owned product after reinstalling or clearing local data. Optional Play Games cloud progress, achievements, and leaderboard scores are retained according to your Google Play Games settings and Google's policies. AdMob data is retained according to Google's advertising data policies. Firebase Analytics data is retained according to the configured Google Analytics data retention settings. Firebase states that Crashlytics keeps crash stack traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal, and that Firebase installation IDs used by Remote Config are retained until deletion is requested through the Firebase installations API.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
